Mark Cavendish honors Ackermann and Milan

Mark Cavendish tried but failed to win the longest stage of the 106th edition of the Giro d’Italia, which ended in a bunch sprint in Tortona after 219 km of racing.
“We were really motivated,” said the Astana Qazaqstan ace. “It was a good sprint, but it was not easy to get there. Vadim rode all day at the front, keeping an incredible pace and making sure the breakaway never went too far. And the guys took care of me in the final stretch. The guys rode unbelievably well for me-I’m proud of them and only sorry I couldn’t win, but I was beaten by two young men with incredible potential, Pascal Ackermann and Jonathan Milan.”
