The words of Matteo Paro

Ivan Juric’s deputy, Matteo Paro, presented in a press conference the challenge against Fiorentina, scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. “The coach only has a little fever, he should be there tomorrow,” he reassured. “With the Viola we had good matches, they despite the European commitment had continuity of performance. They have changed many players in the various matches, they have different solutions of various levels. Tomorrow will be a difficult game even though they played in the cup. We have shown that we can do well, in the Italian Cup with them less well but we can put them in difficulty.”

So he is wary of the Viola’s tiredness, fresh from the 120 minutes in Basel: “The Conference and Europa League are the most difficult competitions, you play on Thursday and leave on Friday to play again on Sunday. They change a lot of players in the engagements: I expect a Fiorentina with many changes, they will still be fresh and with normal energies and not affected by the cup. They are changes of equal value, they have many solutions.”

“It would be to exceed last year’s quota, as well as to fight to reach eighth place: it is important, the boys are showing important growth and we hope to do well and play a great game. We want to beat Fiorentina, reaching and surpassing 50 points would be a very important achievement,” Paro concluded.
