Internazionali d’Italia, Elena Rybakina is the new queen of Rome

“Becoming No. 1 in the world is my dream,” the words of the Rome winner

She had to wait until late in the evening but, in the end, Elena Rybakina won the Internazionali d’Italia. The Kazakh player won, in the final, over Anhelina Kalinina. After winning the first set (6-4), came the Ukrainian’s withdrawal (at 1-0 in favor of Kazakhstan) that sanctioned Elena Rybakina’s own success.

“Becoming number 1 in the world is my dream. And also to win more Slams. I wish Anhelina to get well soon, she is a very good player and deserves to achieve great results,” the words of the new queen of Rome during the award ceremony. The Ukrainian, on the other hand, praised the Italian public, “I thank the Italians who support the Ukrainian people, I thank you from my people.”
