Matteo Berrettini, Wimbledon closer: his name is on the board

A return to a Grand Slam may finally be near.

Matteo Berrettini towards Wimbledon: in fact, the Roman’s name appears on the list for the London tournament, whose entry list was released on Wednesday. This is excellent news for him, fresh from the announcement that he will also be absent from Roland Garros in 2023. He had previously had to forgo the highly anticipated Internazionali d’Italia.

Berrettini, who skipped Wimbledon 2022 due to Covid positivity, only stopped in London in the final in 2021. Along with him are four other Italians in the main draw: Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Musetti, Lorenzo Sonego and Marco Cecchinato.

The big names include Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, and Andrey Rublev. In contrast, Rafa Nadal will be absent, as known.
