F1, Helmut Marko is lapidary on Daniel Ricciardo
F1, Helmut Marko confident about Ricciardo: “If he wants to return to F1 he will have to detach himself completely from the Red Bull family”
During an interview with YouTube channel “Formel1.de,” Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko wanted to have his say on Daniel Ricciardo’s future and the various market rumors about his possible return to the track.
“Daniel’s goal is to return to a top team. I think this year off is good for him, as he can calmly figure out where he wants to go in the future. In the light of his ambitions I think it is unlikely to see him in the AlphaTauri seat next season, just as it will be almost impossible for him to find space at Red Bull, as the results in the simulator have shown that he is not yet at the level of Verstappen and Perez,” said the former Austrian driver as can be read on “FormulaPassion.”
“We are satisfied with the work he is doing. His efforts in the simulator are allowing us to get large amounts of information that allows us to improve the car more and more. In addition, he plays a key role in marketing and PR activities,” added Helmut Marko.
