Roland Garros draw: Jannik Sinner avoids Djokovic and Alcaraz
The draw has been made for the draw for Roland Garros, the second Slam of the season, starting in Paris on May 28. Jannik Sinner can partially smile: while it is true that the South Tyrolean tennis player avoided Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, placed at the top of the draw, the Italian could cross paths in the quarterfinals with Daniil Medvedev, fresh winner of the Internazionali d’Italia. Before reaching the eventual challenge with the Russian tennis player, Jannik will debut with France’s Alexandre Muller and could find Grigor Dimitrov in his way in the third round and Francis Tiafoe or Alexander Zverev in the round of 16.
Lorenzo Musetti, paired with Carlos Alcaraz in a hypothetical round of 16, is not laughing either. The Carrara-based tennis player will debut against Sweden’s Mikael Ymer and could face Cameron Norrie in the third round. It also goes badly for Fabio Fognini, who will find Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime in the opening match. Lorenzo Sonego is expected to face U.S. Ben Shelton in the opener, with Andrey Rublev in the background in the third round. Finally, Marco Cecchinato will debut with France’s Luca Van Assche, while Matteo Arnaldi will take on Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan in the first round.
