The calendar of the Women’s World Cup 2023-2024
The calendar of the Women’s World Cup 2023-2024
The FIS Council has made official the women’s World Cup calendar for next season. The total number of competitions will be 45: 11 downhill, 11 super-G, 11 giant slalom and 11 slalom, to which will be added the new team combination experimented at last World Junior Championships in St. Anton am Arlberg and now “promoted” and put on the calendar in Crans Montana, in which two different competitors will take part in one downhill run and one slalom run, the ranking will be counted on the sum of the times. As usual, the opening is reserved for the giant slalom in Soelden, scheduled for Saturday, October 28, to be followed by the double date with the slalom in Levi and the speed opening in Zermatt/Cervinia, which, after last year’s cancellation, has been set for Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19. The Lake Louise speed event will be replaced by two giant slaloms in Mont Tremblant, also in Canada.
Three more stops in Italy are planned: two downhill runs and a super-G will be celebrated in Cortina d’Ampezzo from Friday, Jan. 26 to Sunday, Jan. 28, followed on Tuesday, Jan. 30 by the customary giant in Kronplatz, while Val di Fassa will host two super-Gs on Feb. 24 and 25. Closing the season will be the finals in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, on this occasion spread over two different weekends: technical trials open on March 16 and 17, and Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 will be the turn of the fast races.
