Alberto Zaccheroni: “It’s a miracle that I’m alive.”
Alberto Zaccheroni in an interview with Corriere della Sera spoke about the last terrible months he has lived, since the domestic accident he was the victim of last Feb. 10. “She found me my wife Fulvia slumped on the ground at the bottom of the stairs. She said I was in a lake of blood, with my head open and one eye out of its socket. I’m alive by a miracle, but of the month in the ICU I don’t remember anything. I risked my life, let’s not go around. The blow was tremendous, the big relief is no brain damage.”
“She was on the ground floor, I was likely going down the stairs and slipped. I tumbled down eight to ten steps. She rushed over because she heard my screams. I had hit my head; she can imagine her fright. I have a big scar on my head to remind me. They had intubated me, I had the tube…. I have to thank the doctors and all the staff at the two institutions who cared for me. They were extraordinary.”
“I want to take back my life, I have to be able to get back into daily life. If walking used to be a hobby, now it is a necessity.”
