Roland Garros, nine Italians in the draw: Cobolli makes it

Flavio Cobolli also makes it into the main draw at Roland Garros: the 21-year-old from Tuscany beat Frenchman Laurent Lokoli in two sets 7-5, 6-3 to reach the main draw of a Slam tournament for the first time in his career.

Thanks to Cobolli’s success, who joins the other two qualifiers Giulio Zeppieri and Andrea Vavassori, there are now nine Azzurri in the main draw: in addition to the three mentioned above, there are Lorenzo Musetti, Lorenzo Sonego, Marco Cecchinato, Jannik Sinner, Fabio Fognini and Matteo Arnaldi. On the other hand, Matteo Berrettini, still struggling with a muscle problem, will miss in Paris.
