The words of Davide Mazzanti

The wait draws to a close. Tomorrow at 4 p.m. Italian time, CT Davide Mazzanti’s Azzurri will make their debut in the 2023 VNL by facing, at the Antalya Spor Salonu, Thailand in the challenge valid for the first day of Pool 1. Italy, which arrived in Turkey yesterday evening (Sunday, May 28) first tasted the taraflex on which Pool 1 will be played and then worked in the weight room in the afternoon.

“Thailand is always a very difficult team to face,” said Italy’s coach, Davide Mazzanti, “perhaps because they have a rather different way of playing compared to what we usually encounter. In addition, we will find a team that has been working together for a long time and therefore will play with a rhythm that can put us in difficulty. Compared to the Lanciano friendlies, we want to make use of the work on ball change, which is something we have been working hard on, and the break phase, which we may still need to fix. This first pool will give us an opportunity to work on these aspects by coaching them further in the game.”
