Stop also for Sara Errani in Paris
Bitter day for Italian women’s tennis at Roland Garros. After the elimination of Camila Giorgi, who was forced to retire during her match against U.S. Pegula, Sara Errani also said goodbye to Paris, defeated in the second round by Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu.
The Emilian tennis player, a finalist on the Paris clay in 2012, was beaten in two sets by the scores of 6-3 6-0 in one hour and twelve minutes. Begu will face Czech Karolina Muchova in the third round.
Topping the women’s Roland Garros roll of honor is Chris Evert, the U.S. outfielder who lifted the top trophy on seven occasions between 1974 and 1986.
