Diego Nargiso explains Jannik Sinner’s problem.

A second-round defeat at Roland Garros against Almaier is a bad setback for Jannik Sinner, the second big man to be excluded from the tournament after Daniil Medvedev.

Former Italian tennis player Diego Nargiso to Gazzetta dello Sport tried to explain the South Tyrolean’s knockout: “Compared to Rome, it’s a different defeat. In Rome he was not so much in form, here he definitely centers a bit of pressure, of managing expectations. He felt it was his moment, and expectation can play tricks on you.”

“He has had a very good start to the season,” Nargiso continued, “Two semifinals and a Masters 1000 final, and he has found a continuity that maybe even he himself did not expect, so when he arrived maybe he was so eager to do well, to give his audience a joy and he got overwhelmed by the pressure.
