The last Italian tennis player still at Roland Garros has also been eliminated: Elisabetta Cocciaretto was defeated by Bernarda Pera of the United States in the third round of the Grand Slam tournament being held on the Paris clay.
The Marche-based tennis player, who from Monday will be the new number one in Italy, succumbed in two sets 6-4, 7-6 and left the court visibly sorry, almost in tears. For her also a physical problem during the match that held her back. For the Ancona native, however, it is the best result ever in her career at Roland Garros.
