Fabio Fognini no-nonsense about the future
Roland Garros, Fabio Fognini chips in after defeat: “I played with a physical problem.”
Following his elimination in the third round of Roland Garros at the hands of Ofner, Fabio Fognini, in his post-match press conference, revealed a particular anecdote about his physical condition. “I took the court with a physical problem. I got a pectoral strain. Despite the injury I decided to play anyway because an opportunity like that will never happen again, as this may be my last Roland Garros. I do not want to belittle Ofner’s victory, but I think that in optimal physical condition I would hardly have lost this match,” admitted the San Remo tennis player to the microphones of “Supertennis.”
“At 36 years old, I’m tired of getting hurt and I don’t accept it anymore. In 6 months I played three tournaments and this is unacceptable for me. At the end of the year I will quietly decide my future. I will look at myself in the mirror and then make a decision,” added Fabio Fognini.
