F1, Spanish GP: Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari starts from the pits
Thanks to the absurd rules of this Formula 1, which do not allow a single-seater to be modified without incurring a penalty if the car has set-up problems, Charles Leclerc will be forced to start from the pit lane in today’s Spanish Grand Prix at the Montmeló circuit.
The reason is that his Ferrari, which showed huge grip problems during qualifying by not letting him go beyond a catastrophic 19th place, has been modified in several of its parts, from the power unit to the gearbox to the front end. Leclerc will therefore have to attempt a miraculous comeback driving a car with a set-up he has never experienced before: in fact, once there was the Sunday morning warm-up, half an hour on the track to try any changes, now not even that.
