Pep Guardiola’s words ahead of the Champions League final against Inter Milan

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola spoke at a press conference on Media Day ahead of the Champions League final against Inter Milan, scheduled for June 10 in Istanbul. “Some people want us to win, others don’t. Some people like us and some don’t: but it’s not a problem,” the Citizens’ coach began. “It’s the last game of the season, we have to play it: whoever wins will have the crown, it matters what you have to do to beat Inter. There are a few days left, it is a dream for us to be here: two years ago we were here and there was a different situation because of Covid.”

He then prodded the Nerazzurri: “We will try to do our best, in the final it matters how you perform in that game, not history: in history Inter is better than us, but it matters what you have to do. It’s 95 minutes where you have to be stronger than the opponent: other things don’t count, you have to be stronger in that game.” On Walker’s condition: “He had a back ailment, he was not well yesterday. Today he was a little better. We didn’t want to risk it and we’ll see in the next few days.”

“Walker? He had a back problem. He was a little better today, we didn’t want to risk it. We will evaluate in the next few days,” he added on Walker’s condition.
