Salvation tiebreaker, La Spezia does not like the choice
Salvation tiebreaker in Udine
The salvation playoff between Spezia and Verona, scheduled for next Sunday, will be played at Udine’s Dacia Arena: all that is missing is the official announcement. The facility hosting the Bianconeri was preferred over other stadiums: in pole position seemed to be the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia.
Udine is not equidistant from Verona and La Spezia, as was promptly pointed out in Liguria: “A choice that displeases the La Spezia public, which will have to shoulder a long trip to a stadium that seems to favor the onslaught of the Veronese, geographically much closer to Friuli than the Ligurians,” reads, for example, in Città Della Spezia, an online daily newspaper with a large following in the area.
“We asked the 20 associated teams for availability for the stadium, they responded positively Lecce, Udine, Florence and Reggio Emilia. We will evaluate everything with the Ministry of the Interior and the Observatory for Security,” Lega Serie A President Lorenzo Casini had noted.
