Alexander Zverev returns to semifinals at Roland Garros one year after injury
Stronger than diabetes, which forces him to take insulin injections several times during a match: Alexander Zverev is in the semifinals at Roland Garros.
Exactly one year after the terrible ankle injury that forced him to retire in the semifinals against Rafael Nadal, a long stop and a very complicated return to the circuit, the 26-year-old German from Hamburg beat Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the quarterfinals with a score of 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4.
Now in the semifinals Zverev will meet the winner between Denmark’s Holger Rune and Norway’s Casper Ruud.
