MotoGP, Marco Melandri points to his favorite for the title
Marco Melandri, on the eve of the Italian Grand Prix at the Mugello circuit, gave an interview to Planetwin365.news reported by “La Gazzetta dello Sport,” in which he analyzes the current situation in the MotoGP world championship and MotoGP in particular. Here are some excerpts.
Melandri has no doubts about who is the favorite for the premier class title: “Pecco Bagnaia, because he is the most complete rider. As a head he is the most ready, he is aware of his strength and speed because he won last year and he has the best bike, which he rides better than anyone.”
And there is an episode, which happened precisely at Mugello in 2005, that is among the best memories of the Ravenna rider’s career, who then reveals that he was contacted in the same year by a Formula 1 team: “At the end of the straight in front of the home crowd I passed Rossi and Biaggi at once. That overtaking was worth almost as much as a world championship. At the end of the season, Toyota proposed that I try Formula 1 for two days at Le Castellet. Unfortunately, Honda prevented me from doing so, but I still think about it often.”
