Roland Garros: Casper Ruud beats Alexander Zverev and goes to the final
If the first semifinal of the men’s singles at Roland Garros was tightly contested for two sets until Carlos Alcaraz’s injury against Novak Djokovic, the second one didn’t really have any storis.
In fact, it was won by Norwegian Casper Ruud, who overwhelmed with a score of 6-3 6-4 6-0 German Alexander Zverev in two hours and 9 minutes of play. Result never in dispute except at the beginning of the first set, when there were two breaks in the second and third games.
But then Ruud never lost his serve again, snatched it back as early as the fourth game from Zverev, and made four more breaks in the next two sets. It is the second consecutive final in Paris for the Scandinavian, who last year lost decisively to Rafael Nadal by picking up only six games.
