He is the face of happiness, Valentino Rossi, after his resounding comeback victory at the wheel of Team WRT’s BMW M4 in the ‘Road To Le Mans’ race run Friday at the circuit of the famous French resort. Rossi, in his first success in the category, inherited the fourth position of his teammate, Frenchman Jerome Policand, in the race, remounting on the track to second place and moving up to first after the penalty imposed on Cozzolino’s Ferrari.

“It’s fantastic, it’s my first win in GT,” are the words of the ‘Doctor’ reported by ‘L’Equipe’ after the award ceremony. “It’s great to be back on the podium at Le Mans after all these years, and it’s all experience for next year, when I’ll want to hold on to my goal of winning the most important race on this circuit.

Valentino Rossi, 44 years old last Feb. 16, had won three other times at Le Mans, also in MotoGp: in 2002 on Honda, in 2005 and in 2008 riding Yamaha.
