The Mugello weekend is already over for Honda centaur Alex Rins. The Spanish rider suffered a fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg in his crash in the sprint race.
Already in the next few hours Rins will undergo an initial surgery at the Careggi hospital in Florence, whereby doctors will apply an external fixator to stabilize the injured limb and reduce the swelling. He will later return to Spain to undergo another operation: the recovery time for his return to the track is yet to be understood.
