Pecco Bagnaia takes the Mugello Sprint Race by beating Marco Bezzecchi, who undermined him until the final straight. The victory that opens the Italian Grand Prix weekend allows him to move up to 106 points in the overall MotoGP standings, +4 from Bezzecchi in second at 102. Third comes Jorge Martin, on Ducati as the first five across the line. Only seventh is Marc Marquez on a Honda.

Race conditioned by a few drops of rain, which also did not affect the test of the factory Ducatis. Those who pay for the difficult circuit conditions are Martin (momentarily first and then forced into a mistake) and especially Marc Marquez. Second at the start and back from the controversy of qualifying, the Catalan loses a few positions on the third lap and manages to recover only one in the remainder of the race.
