Tour of the Dauphiné, Jonas Vingegaard makes the gap on the Croix-de-Fer
Jonas Vingegaard, last year’s Tour de France triumphant, makes a vacuum on the Croix-de-Fer, the final climb of the seventh stage of the Tour of the Dauphiné, 148 km long and starting from Porte-de-Savoie, and gets his hands on the overall classification of the short transalpine stage race, of which, moreover, he was already leader, which is the traditional prologue to the Grande Boucle.
It was the tenth success of the season for the Dane of Jumbo-Visma, who edged out UAE Emirates’ Briton Adam Yates by 41″ seconds and Bora-Hansgrohe’s Australian Jai Hindley by 53. Vingegaard also leads Yates in the overall by 2’11”. Tomorrow is the final stage, Le Pont-de-Claix-La Bastille-Grenoble Alpes Métropole of 153 kilometers.
