Adrian Newey extols his Max Verstappen
Adrian Newey’s words
Adrian Newey came back to talk about Max Verstappen: “I think he has very good control of the car and natural ability. Maybe he made some mistakes at the beginning because he was pushing a lot, but he’s much more fluid and drives absolutely on the limit of the car, he’s very careful. He has a really good feeling about how to use the tires. And we know how important tire behavior is a factor. I think he can be considered the perfect driver.”
“Prost was very methodical, very articulate, and testing was very frustrating because you often didn’t push. So you never really knew where you were. But when he wanted to, he could turn on the situations. Hakkinen and Raikkonen were very different. They didn’t say much, but what they said you had to take into consideration and interpret because they had different ways of saying things. Vettel was someone who was very attentive to data analysis, did long debriefings and spent a lot of time going through everything. Max is more in the middle. Very different characters, but all phenomenal,” he concluded to Sky.
