First win on grass for Lorenzo Musetti

Lorenzo Musetti scored his historic first victory on grass in the first round of the ATP 250 in Stuttgart. In fact, the tennis player from Carrara overcame Croatian Borna Gojo in two sets with a score of 7-6 6-3 after an hour and a half of play.

“First win on grass? I felt some pressure at the beginning. I didn’t serve in the best way and I made a lot of mistakes in the first set. The attitude and mentality, though, was great. I think that was the key to my victory. I am very happy, because this is my first win on grass,” Musetti said after the match.

“I hope I can continue this path. I was able to be patient and wait for the tie-break, where I served really well and got a single mini-break. That was the point I needed to win the first set. On this surface, especially against a big server, you have to be very patient and take advantage of the few opportunities you have. This kind of mentality really helped me today, I hope to keep winning,” added the Italian.
