Alessandro Buongiorno sends a message of love to Torino
The words of Alessandro Buongiorno
Alessandro Buongiorno, Torino’s captain, gave an interview to ‘La Stampa’ in which he did not fail to emphasize his love for the granata jersey: “We were coming from the Giampaolo parenthesis and, I, was on the fringes: young and little considered. So, it is normal, that whoever arrives is as if inheriting established situations: hence my role, let’s say, not exactly central in Juric’s thoughts. Then I said to myself: I love the jersey, I’ve been supporting Toro forever, I won’t give up. Every day a small step forward. Now I feel that I have become familiar with the ball, that I want it between my feet: and, thus, I take the freedom to gain field.”
“In me Juric has brought out a predisposition to be Italian that I did not know: the coach tells me, often, ‘you are Italian, use your Italian-ness.’ In his head, being Italian means knowledge of a reality, ours, that lives of many things, from tactics to healthy cunning, to the perception of danger when the game changes,” continued the Italian defender.
“Buongiorno unico untouchable makes me think back to my first kicks at a ball with granata on, to my dad who was a great fan, to my family, to my friends, to Santa Rita where I was born with Grande Torino just a step away. I believe in flags, we are talking about renewal with the club. When I think about my future, I ask myself: should Toro become a point of arrival and not of passage. Will it be like that? It will be so if we raise the bar of ambition that each of us has, including me, and ambitions are only fueled by facts. We shall see,” Buongiorno concluded.
