Davide Tardozzi takes a swipe at Marc Marquez

Davide Tardozzi has returned to the rift between Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez that occurred during Q2 at Mugello. The Ducati team manager, speaking at the microphones of ‘As’, did not send them to the eight-time world champion: “Marc Marquez is not an enemy of Ducati, he is a rival, which is different. And I want to say that seeing a champion suffering is something that upsets me. But having said that, I criticize some of his actions that a champion of his caliber should not do. This of course is my point of view, because Marc says that the rules allow him to do these things when he is in trouble, actions that I don’t see well. He is right, but I think a champion like him should be more humble and see what his real level is.”

“It doesn’t help Honda with the second place on the grid at Mugello, because that was not the position of his bike,” he added. “Plus what he does doesn’t please the fans. And it makes me angry, because a champion like Marc should be respected because he is very brave and I think he is one of the five best ever, but he cannot tarnish his image with certain actions. I remember for example when he entered the pit lane following Vinales: these are things you don’t do and champions shouldn’t do.”

“He tries to do more than what the bike allows him to do. For me he should not fall and he should bring the bike back to the pits. I don’t accept what he’s saying, which is that he tries and falls: but what does he get out of it? We are talking about a person with a very strong character and finishing fifth is not in line with his character. In my opinion someone should tell him that it is better to think differently. This is my opinion,” Tardozzi concluded.
