Italy, Nations League: Alessandro Bastoni skips Spain
Alessandro Bastoni missed today’s training session at Coverciano of the Italian national team coached by Roberto Mancini ahead of the Nations League semifinal against Spain to be played tomorrow night at 8:45 p.m. in Enschede, Netherlands.
For the Inter defender a bout of fever and a precautionary stop preventing him from leaving for Holland with the rest of the Mancio’s squad, in his place will be granata Alessandro Buongiorno.
Bastoni is fresh from the defeat four days ago in Istanbul, when inter was beaten by Manchester City in the Champions League final, in which he gave an overall good performance.
With the Nerazzurri this season he won the Italian Super Cup and the Coppa Italia, which he had already brought home a year ago, and also contributed to the 2021 Scudetto. With the national team, on the other hand, he has 17 appearances to his credit, including one during the victorious European Championships two summers ago, and one goal.
