Jannik Sinner: all goes smoothly in grass debut

Jannik Sinner starts his season on the right foot on grass: the South Tyrolean tennis player, hunting for redemption after recent disappointing performances on clay in Rome and Roland Garross, won on his debut in the Atp tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch against Kazakhstan’s Aleksandr Bublik.

Sinner won in two sets with scores of 6-4, 6-2. After a balanced start, the Italian definitely took the upper hand, exploiting above all a perfect serve with as many as 8 aces. Bublik then gave up mentally in the second set, making life easy for ours. In the next round, the San Candido athlete will face a decidedly tougher opponent, Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori. On the horizon looms Sinner’s real goal, the Wimbledon tournament starting at the end of June.

The term ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) refers to the association that brings together all male professional tennis players from all corners of the world. The ATP’s primary task is to protect the interests of the players and also to organize essential services, such as, for example, the compilation of the world ranking, called the ATP ranking, and tournament planning.
