Victory in Game 5 decisive: 9-3 final in favor of Golden Knights
Las Vegas won its first Stanley Cup. Ahead 3-1 in the series with the Panthers, the Golden Knights prevailed in Game 5, in front of a friendly crowd, with a dry 9-3 win, ending the final series at 4-1.
Only six years after joining the NHL, Las Vegas celebrates its first NHL title. Having touched the title in 2018 in its NHL debut, Las Vegas did not fail at the second opportunity. Marchessault, star of the Golden Knights took home the playoffs MVP award: “It’s one of those things you work your whole life for. Right now, looking at what we accomplished as a team, I couldn’t be more proud,” his words to NHL Network.
