MotoGP: Pecco Bagnaia’s confidence ahead of Sachsenring
Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia, reigning world champion and MotoGP world championship leader, spoke at a press conference on the eve of the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring circuit.
“I am confident, in my opinion we can be competitive here as well,” said the Turin-based Ducati rider, who then returned to last year’s fall at the very Saxon circuit, after which he began a resounding comeback over then-leader Fabio Quartararo, who is currently in a major crisis with his Yamaha: “Last year’s fall here taught me that I must always believe. It looked like I was going to lose everything, I tried to figure out what our potential could be, we had a meeting with the team, and since then everything has changed, already starting with the next race in Assen, we recovered immediately.”
Bagnaia, with his Ducati, currently leads Marco Bezzecchi, also on a Ducati but from the Mooney VR46 Racing team, by 21 points, and out of six rainbow stages he has won three sprint races, Portimao, Austin and Mugello, and three Grands Prix, Portugal, Spain and Italy.
