Chris Smalling’s renewal with Roma is official

It is now official: Chris Smalling is renewing with Roma until 2025. The announcement came via a note issued by the Giallorossi club.

These are the words of the 33-year-old English defender, who has already played four seasons with Roma: “Choosing to stay was simple: here I am getting to know the best phase of my career and in this beautiful city my family and I felt welcomed right from the start. Moreover, the growth of the club is under everyone’s eyes from every point of view. Finally, I would like to thank our fans: their unconditional love also played a role in my decision.”

The general manager of the sports area Tiago Pinto, on the other hand, commented, “Chris has distinguished himself in these years not only for his performance on the field, but also for the sense of belonging that has led him to still bond with Roma. We are therefore happy to be able to count on his support in the center of the defense as well as his leadership within the locker room, where he represents a positive example for the boys who make up our roster.”
