MotoGp, qualifying Gp Germany: Luca Marini second but with one regret
Luca Marini’s words after his second place in qualifying
After seeing the possibility of getting the pole position slip away due to a smudge committed in the final stages of the last lap, Ducati Mooney VR46 rider Luca Marini spoke about his second place in qualifying and his feelings ahead of the Sprint Race.
“It was a very challenging qualifying, as the track conditions pushed us to have to give everything and pass on the wet parts as if we were riding in the dry. I’m sorry about the last lap, I tried to come up with something in the last corner to try to snatch pole from Pecco, but I went in too fast and lost the rear and that lost me some valuable time. Overall, though, I am happy with my performance,” said the centaur from Valentino Rossi’s team.
“It’s important to start on the front row at this circuit, but meanwhile with Miller on the side I already know that I will have to defend myself already in the first corner. The problem with the Sprint is that I don’t feel very comfortable with the soft tire, but if everyone will use it for us it would be counterproductive to go on another compound,” added Luca Marini.
