Jannik Sinner in trouble: comes Dominic Thiem’s advice
Thiem to Sinner and other young people: “They should not lose their passion, don’t think about what is said outside.”
2020 Us Open winner Dominic Thiem in an interview with Corriere dello Sport sent a message to Jannik Sinner and other up-and-coming youngsters on the Atp circuit: “They must not lose their passion and they must stay focused, not thinking about what is said on the outside. Sinner, Rune, Ruud and others have already proven that they have qualities to win a slam.”
Thiem just after the 2020 triumph was lost, amid low motivation and physical problems: “It seems very far away, almost like it was another career or another life. For me it was a magnificent moment and I felt great relief to win the first slam of my career. After slam success every player reacts differently. Some immediately think about the next slam, instead for me it was not easy to regain motivation. But I never thought about retirement. Compared to when I was 20 years old, the way I see tennis is different, but the forces I employ on tennis are the same, for me it is always the most important thing.”
