Novak Djokovic, reflection and thank you river for Roland Garros
Cold thanks a few days after the great feat.
Novak Djokovic returns to the success at Roland Garros that enabled him to win the 23rd Slam of his career. He does so in a long post on Instagram in which he explains the weight of the feat and thanks those who were decisive in this and the other most significant victories of his career.
“I was reflecting on the magical 23rd Slam I won seven days ago at Roland Garros,” Djokovic wrote, “I experienced the most beautiful moments with my team and family. It was a hard battle, fought over several weeks, but the victory is sweeter when you know you left everything possible on the court.”
“Above all, I am grateful for all the support of my fans,” Djokovic added. “You are the best fans anyone could wish for. Thank you for standing by me when not many would have done so. Please know that I appreciate it very much. I also thank my family, team, friends, everyone who helped and contributed to create this tennis history.
“I’m alone on the court, but never along the way,” Djokovic stressed. “I give great weight to the importance of the closest people in my life and their colossal tolerance, patience and love throughout my career. I am super lucky to be where I am and I often try to remind myself of the journey I’ve been on. Starting in Serbia, which has always been my home and where my heart is. Facing adversity at every stage of my life has made me stronger.”
“Being authentic, open, honest, generous, courageous nowadays is a valuable asset that is judged and criticized. However, it is with these values that I continue to chart the path for the next generation. And I continue with the journey that has given me so much,” Djokovic concluded.
