Bitter Montenegro for basketball’s Azzurre.

It is decidedly bitter epilogue to the Women’s EuroBasket 2023 for the National Women’s team: in the play-off in Tel Aviv that was worth a place in the top eight, the Azzurre were beaten 49-63 by Montenegro, which will then play the quarterfinal against France in Ljubljana on Thursday, June 22. The other quarter will see the Czech Republic and Hungary on the court, the other two play-offs (Serbia-Great Britain and Slovakia-Germany) will be played on Tuesday in the Slovenian capital, which will then also host the entire final round.
“We took the court with an unaggressive attitude, I am very sad because I imagined a different performance and a different result,” said Azzurri coach Lino Lardo. Montenegro is playing a very good European Championship and took the court with more intensity, congratulations to them.”
