Filippo Zana will not be able to defend the Tricolor won in 2022

The Italian Cycling Championships, scheduled for this weekend, lose one of the main protagonists, the reigning tricolor champion of the inline trial Filippo Zana. The 24-year-old athlete, rider of Team Jayco AlUla, was in fact the victim of a training accident that caused him to fracture his collarbone, as he explained through his social profiles on Wednesday.

“On Saturday I would have liked to fight to keep this important jersey,” said the Thiene native, winner in 2022, “but unfortunately this morning a fall caused me to break my collarbone. I wish the best of luck to my teammates and thank everyone for their support in this wonderful tricolor year.”

Great misfortune then for Zana, who had been a protagonist in the Giro d’Italia this season, with victory in the Val di Zoldo stage) and only a few days ago had won the Tour of Slovenia.
