Three bikes and three Italian riders ahead of everyone in Assen.

Marco Bezzecchi takes pole position at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, and in Saturday afternoon’s Sprint Race he will start ahead of Pecco Bagnaia and Luca Marini. It is an all-Italian front row, the first since Mugello last year, and composed of three Italian bikes. To be precise, they are three Ducatis, as was the case in Argentina this year.

Bezzecchi raced in 1:31.472, setting a new Assen track record and preceding Bagnaia by just 61 thousandths. Behind them is Luca Marini, brother of Valentino Rossi and like the two colleagues and compatriots a product of the ‘Doctor’s’ Academy. Fourth is the first ‘non-Ducati’ rider: Fabio Quartararo on a Yamaha. More problems for Marc Marquez, forced to start in 17th position after a collision against Enea Bastianini in Q1.
