Charles Leclerc now scares Red Bull: Helmut Marko’s confession
After a long period of crisis, now the Cavallino is back to being scary.
Charles Leclerc and Ferrari bogeyman Red Bull. That’s the big, partly unexpected news from the Formula 1 world champion team ahead of its home race, the Austrian Grand Prix to be held on the first weekend of July. The good signs shown by the Roses in Montreal, in fact, were certainly not taken under consideration by Helmut Marko. Who in view of Spielberg does not now hide a certain concern.
“In Canada, the fastest single-seater on the track was the Ferrari,” Marko noted in fact. “Now we are going to race at the Red Bull Ring, which is a track on which their car can adapt very well. I believe that if Leclerc starts from the front row or even the second, a Verstappen victory will be anything but easy.”
It is important to remember that back in 2022 it was Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari that won the Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg, beating a Max Verstappen who also won the pole position on Saturday. A memory that has certainly not disappeared from Helmut Marko’s mind, especially now that there are clear signs of growth in Maranello.
