F1, Stefano Domenicali raises the volume again
Stefano Domenicali’s words
Stefano Domenicali was back to talk about interesting issues on 3AW, an Australian radio station: “The intention is to make sure that in the new regulations the engine noise is greater, because it is something that is part of the emotion associated with racing; it is something that our fans really care about and it is our duty to engage on this issue. We are not going to go to even quieter engines like in Formula E: we have to have a roar that is music to the ears; we had the 12-cylinder, with a different frequency and a very loud noise, then we went to the 10, the 8 and the 6, but they are not going to drop yet.”
Not only that, “In Europe I expect to see races where the principle of rotation will be applied, so I exclude there will be two events in the same country in one year; I don’t know which races yet, some talks are underway to formally define the issue in this biennium.”
