Marc Marquez also skips the Dutch GP

Marc Marquez will not race the Dutch Grand Prix scheduled for today in Assen. This was announced by MotoGP on its official twitter account and by Honda in a note. “Marc Marquez will not take part in the Dutch Grand Prix. The HRC rider has been declared unfit after injuries last week during the German Grand Prix, which were reportedly aggravated over the two days in Assen.”

Last week in Germany, the Spanish rider had had to forfeit the race after no less than five crashes between free practice, qualifying and warm-up. Fractures of a finger, ribs and a foot ligament forced Marquez to miss the race for the second consecutive week.

Overall this season, surely the worst of his career, the eight-time world champion, six in MotoGP, has had to miss five Grand Prix. In addition to those of Germany last week and Holland today, he forfeited in those of Argentina, the Americas and Spain because of a fractured metacarpal suffered in the first race of the season in Portimao.
