Moto2 Dutch GP: first success for Jake Dixon
First ever career victory for Jake Dixon in the Moto2-class Dutch Grand Prix at the Assen circuit. The 27-year-old Briton from Dover on the Kalex of the GasGas Aspar team preceded Japan’s Ai Ogura on the Kalex of the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia.
Third was Spaniard Pedro Acosta on a Kalex from the Red Bull KTM Ajo team despite being given a long lap penalty for a track limit infraction. Incidentally, everyone was waiting for a penalty for another identical infraction, made right in the long lap penalty, but it did not come.
Fourth was the Spaniard Fermin Aldeguer on Boscoscoscuro Beta Tools SpeedUp, beaten in a sprint by Acosta himself. World leader Tony Arbolino, on Elf Marc VDS Racing Team’s Kalex, finished seventh, so his lead in the championship standings over Acosta is reduced to just 8 points.
