The words of Stefano Tonut

After winning his third career scudetto, the first with Olimpia Milano, Stefano Tonut gave an interview to ‘Il Piccolo’ in which he emphasized everyone’s credit in the meneghini’s championship victory.

“I went to Milan aware of the experience that awaited me. I knew that I could find difficulties, not necessarily through my fault but because I was arriving in a reality of the highest level, with great internal competition,” he admitted. “I did not arrive ignoring all this, I had budgeted for it.

“It happened to me to play little, but it also happened to some of my other teammates. In a season that includes Euroleague and league commitments at a high level, between injuries and no periods of certain elements, every pawn on the roster becomes important,” added the Trieste basketball player. “One remembers the last games but the meaning of a season is in the awareness of having tried to be useful always. The right approach is to put the team’s needs ahead of your own.”

“But that is precisely why after the victory over Virtus Bologna that gave us the Scudetto you saw all the players on the Milan roster celebrating. Even those who were left out of the 12 on the roster by technical choice. This scudetto belongs to everyone,” Tonut concluded.
