Franco Morbidelli leaves Yamaha: Valentino Rossi-Ducati contacts
Franco Morbidelli towards a farewell to Yamaha at the end of the season: according to rumors, the Italian-Brazilian could move to Ducati, in the satellite team Gresini Racing, in place of Fabio Di Giannantonio, who could leave MotoGp at the end of the season. Contacts are already underway between Valentino Rossi’s VR46 and Ducati to find an understanding.
Confirming the negotiations was the same sport director Paolo Ciabatti to Sky Sport: “Alex Marquez is confirmed although there has been no announcement for next year. Fabio Di Giannantonio has been given some time to extend or not extend his contract. Carlo Pernat has come forward for Tony Arbolino and we have talked to VR46 for Franco Morbidelli.”
Ciabatti also addressed SBK champion Alvaro Bautista, who shined in testing with the Ducati MotoGP: “He went very strong and his mouth watered. His request is to see if he can do a second test and then we’ll see.”
