Coach Tartarini is frank about Jannik Sinner’s decline
Lorenzo Musetti’s coach Simone Tartarini, in an interview with OaSport, addressed the complicated moment Jannik Sinner is going through, “Not being on his staff to give an answer is complicated, to me it looks like a decline from the physical point of view, which may also be normal.”
“Probably his tennis, to be like what we admired from February to April and top-3, has to have a lot of athletic support, and when that component goes down a little bit, his ball travels less. However, that is something that can be there because he is a tennis player who is still forming his physique and is less structured than Alcaraz and Rune in that respect. He probably needs to be given more time, but I mean: No. 8 in the world and in the top-8 of the Race, that’s not little.”
According to Tartarini, Djokovic is favored at Wimbledon: “Absolutely, after all, he has won the tournament seven times and comes from the success in Paris. So he is definitely the player to beat.”
