Lorenzo Musetti warns Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini.
Lorenzo Musetti warns Sinner: “I want to get as close to Jannik as possible.”
Lorenzo Musetti confessed his ambitions and hopes to Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the start of Wimbledon: “I don’t want to sound too humble but at least in the second round I would like to get there. “The last two experiences in London have not been positive. One step after another I hope to move forward and gain awareness of my means.”
Musetti will debut against Juan Pablo Varillas: “Ranking matters and it doesn’t. Number 15 pushes me to the goal of top 10 and to stay there permanently. I would be happy if Djokovic makes Grand Slam. It wouldn’t take anything away from anyone, it would be recognition for a formidable career. I will try to get him in trouble if I meet him, I won’t shy away.”
Musetti also spoke about compatriots Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini: “Jannik’s quality is not in question. I think he has every chance to return to the levels he showed us at the beginning of the year. For me to have a player like him in front of me is a push to improve, I want to get as close to him as possible. It is a positive rivalry. Berrettini? I’m glad he’s there and wants to try, I really hope he can play without too many problems and injuries.”
