Jannik Sinner flies to Wimbledon: “Right mindset.”
A new mindset to do well on the grass in London.
Jannik Sinner analyzes the clear victory over Diego Schwartzman that earned him passage to the third round at Wimbledon. A clear 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 certifying his excellent mental and physical state. By his own admission, however, the key lies above all in a new mental approach.
“Obviously, it’s not easy to play against Diego, even though I know him very well,” Sinner said at the end of the day to the microphones of ‘Sky Sports.’ As the match got into full swing, however, I played better and better and more and more free of mind. Maybe I need to improve a little bit at the service level. I still need to find the right rhythm. Putting it all together, though, it was a very good match. Let’s see how the next one goes.”
“I feel better on serve than in the past. I’m going less out of rhythm, but I still need to file something down. I still can’t get as high as I would like, for example. So many things though are positive. I’m trying to play my game, I’m trying to win matches and not trying not to lose them. The mentality is right,” Sinner assured.
