Martina Trevisan, bitter outburst at Wimbledon
Difficult moment for Martina Trevisan, who did not dispel the Wimbledon taboo, once again coming out defeated in her debut match against Spain’s Sara Sorribes Tormo in the first round.
The Tuscan tennis player commented on the defeat (her fourth in a row on the circuit) as follows, “Lately the physique has not been sending good signals, I have not been able to put together a week of training. The problem with my foot has not allowed me to train at my best, then last week I had a strong backache and was forced to stop for 5 days.”
“As a result, when you don’t put intensity in training then it’s difficult to bring what you would need to the court,” added the blue medalist. “These are difficult moments on an emotional level, if then you are not helped even by your body it becomes really complicated. I play with the body, my tennis needs intensity, it is the strongest part and if that is missing then everything else fails. You go down the court with not good feelings because you can also try to leverage experience but on the other side of the net there are strong girls who know how to play good tennis.”
“The programs? Right now I’m a little down, but there’s doubles and out of respect for Jasmine I will play. Then I will go back home, my safe place,” Trevisan concluded.
