Cagliari, Simone Scuffet opportunity pops up: details
A great former promise of Italian soccer is ready to return to Serie A.
Simone Scuffet could become Cagliari’s new goalkeeper. The 27-year-old Friulian was a revelation in the 2013-2014 championship with the Udinese shirt but, after a failed transfer to Atletico Madrid, he never had a chance to show his qualities at high levels again. Now, however, the Rossoblù islanders seem to be serious about him, who has since moved to Cluj in Romania.
According to what was revealed by ‘Sky Sport,’ in fact, the deal for Scuffet could also be facilitated by the use of the Growth Decree. The Sardinian management is screening this additional opportunity, net of an operation in progress anyway.
For Scuffet, this would be a return to Serie A after a single appearance under his belt with Udinese in the 2020-2021 season. Since then, before landing at Cluj, he had played for Apoel Nicosia in Cyprus. After booming in his debut season with the Friulians, he had worn their jersey only 24 more times in the league over five seasons, interspersed with experiences in Serie B with Como and Spezia and a spell in Turkey at Kasimpasa.
